Tyranid Gargoyle Brood
Gargoyles are often the first wave of a Tyranid swarm to be seen in battle. Thus a Tyranid attack is preceded by the beating of thousands of membranous wings as Gargoyle Broods descend upon the foe; blocking out the sun, and spitting death from their fleshborers and caustic venom from their fanged mouths.
This box set contains 10 multi-part plastic Tyranid Gargoyles. Models supplied with small flying bases.

Tyranid Trygon / Mawloc
The Trygon is a colossal serpentine creature whose iron-hard carapace is proof against all but the heaviest of weapons and whose giant talons can scythe through even the most formidable battle-tank. In battle, a Trygon’s shifting mass generates lethal bio-electric energy that it unleashes upon its foes in vicious arcs of lighting.
Mawlocs are huge worm-like creatures with massive razor-toothed maws that act as the entryway to their equally cavernous gullets. Most of a Mawloc’s victims are swallowed whole, there to be painfully digested. Anything to large to swallow is pounded flat by the Mawloc’s muscular tail before being devoured.
This box set contains one large multi-part plastic miniature that can be assembled as either a Tyranid Trygon or Tyranid Mawloc. This 97-piece set contains a range of additional components that allow you to personalise your model. Model supplied with a large oval base.

Tyranid Ravener Brood
Raveners were designed for shock assault and swift pursuit. They have incredible senses which allow them to track their prey over massive distances and detect the slightest movement, and a taut musculature that grants them terrifying speed. Raveners slither towards the foe with bewildering swiftness as their thorax-mounted weapon-symbiotes spit death.
This box set contains three multi-part plastic Tyranid Raveners. This 57-piece set includes a range of additional components that allow you to personalise your Ravener Brood. Models supplied with 40mm round bases.

Codex: TyranidsThe Tyranids are a ravenous race of aliens that have traveled through the cold darkness of the intergalactic void in order to feed upon the galaxy. The Tyranids are the ultimate predators against which the galaxies mightiest armies are naught but prey.

And here is the new Skaven Screaming Bell / Plague Furnace model;

From Games Workshop Site;
Skaven Screaming Bell / Plague Furnace
Of all the diabolical wonder weapons of the Skaven, none is as notorious as the Screaming Bell. It is from these unholy altars that the Grey Seers preach their plans of total domination in the name of the Great Horned Rat.
The Plague Furnace is a disease-ridden altar to the Great Horned Rat and an unholy pulpit for a Plague Priest. It is the noisome shrine of Clan Pestilens and ruination and corruption travel in its wake.
This box set contains one multi-part plastic Skaven war engine that can be assembled as a Screaming Bell or a Plague Furnace. This 54-piece set includes a host of additional components that can be used to personalise your miniature.

And a special character from Space Wolves, I may change my Black Templars to Space Wolves in any minute… Hope Games Workshop gives us a new Black Templars codex before I do such a thing….

From Games Workshop site;
Canis Wolfborn
Canis Wolfborn is lord of wolfkind and wolves great and small instinctively obey his commands. Canis’ steel and courage are beyond question and he is borne into battle atop the Thunderwolf Fangir, the largest of his kind. In battle the two devolve into a terrifying frenzy, and with crackling blows and rending jaws, rip apart the foe.
This box set contains one finely-detailed, nine-piece, metal Canis Wolfborn. Model supplied with a 60mm round base.

Games Workshop is full of suprises nowadays. Now they have announced Legion of the Damned was coming out in January.
Today at Games Day Italy we unveiled the all-new metal Legion of The Damned models.
The Legion of The Damned are Spaces Marines in appearance. Their black armour is adorned with chilling images of bone and fire, and an eerie glow suffuses their sable armour and a halo of ghostly fire dances about their feet. Considered by some to be an extension of the Emperor’s superhuman will and by others as the vengeful and immortal spirits of fallen Space Marines, Damned Legionnaires fight with a chill precision few mortal warriors can match.
Out in January, the Legion of The Damned are an Elite Space Marine unit who can always Deep Strike and can even opt to re-roll the deep strike scatter dice. Also, their 3+ saving throw is invulnerable.

Games Workshop has released the long waited Space Wolves…. Hope we will be seeing the new Black Templars Codex next year…

From Games Workshop announcement;
Codex: Space WolvesMost savage and barbaric of all the Space Marine Chapters, the Sons of Russ are proud, noble and fierce. In battle each warrior rages like the thunderstorms of their ice-bound home world of Fenris, and his wrath is as the fires of Asaheim. Yet their red-hot battle-lust is tempered with cunning, just as their raw strength is augmented by power armour, boltgun and frost axe. They are warriors of myth, and in their wake spring legends.
This 96-page Warhammer 40,000 Codex contains all the rules you’ll need to field a Space Wolves army, as well as detailed background information, bestiary, accompanying artwork and a full-colour ‘Eavy Metal showcase.

We have no active Tyranid players at our local club. Having 4 40K armies at the same time; Black Templars, Necrons, Imperial Guards and Space Orkz, I just do not have enough budget or time to work on a new 40K army. With the new codex I hope our club will have at least one Tyranid player.

And information from Games Workshop site about the new codex;
From the great blackness beyond the edge of our galaxy they come, an alien swarm driven by a ravenous hunger that knows no end. These creatures have many names, for all races have come to loathe and fear them. They are the Great Devourer, the Doom of All Things, the Penance of the Elder Gods, the Shadow in the Warp. They are the Tyranids, and they have come to consume us all.
The Tyranids are utterly alien. They are creatures of visceral horror, implacable monsters with dagger-like fangs and razor-sharp claws that can tear a man apart in the blink of an eye. Grotesque living weapons fire parasitic projectiles into their prey’s flesh, eating their victims from the inside out. Stalker beasts lurk in the shadows, bursting from their hiding places to attack the unwary and devour them whole. Every one of the myriad Tyranid warrior-creatures is a killing machine, perfectly adapted to slaughter its victims. They are the ultimate predators, and we are their prey.
January 2010 signals the release of the latest Warhammer 40,000 release, Codex: Tyranids. A 96-page volume packed to bursting with background, history, artwork and stunning miniatures, Codex: Tyranids is the ultimate resource for Tyranid players everywhere.
As well as a fantastic new Codex, there will be a range of exciting new miniatures, including Tyranid beasts never seen before! So, start gathering your broods, prepare your digestion pools and get ready to unleash the Great Devourer upon the galaxy this January.

Games Workshop has annouced they will be releasing the new Skaven Army book this November. The new came out with some new skaven model photos which seems enough to attract Skaven players to build more clanrats.

This November the Skaven will be clawing and scurrying their way across the Old World with renewed ferocity. As well as a new army book, there are plenty of new metal and plastic miniatures being released, so you’ll have a host of new war machines, monsters and characters to field alongside your classic favourites. Here’s a first look at Alex Boyd’s great piece of cover art for the new Warhammer Armies: Skaven.

And this was my second Gorger. I have used the same pattern as the first one;

I used another Ogre Bull body and added an Iron Gut gut plate (plate witha large single spike to give variety) and used 2 spiky fists (the same as the Gorger 1) from my Ogre Bulls spares. I used another Gorger (also different) head from one of my friends’ spares.

I used green stuff to make a hairy neck which suits the metal gorger head.

I do not like the look of the original gorgers much so I had converted 2 ogre bulls to gorgers. This one is the first of them;

I used an Ogre Bull body and added an Iron Gut gut plate (a nice spiky one) and used 2 spiky fists from Ogre Bulls spares. I thought about the head for long finally used a Gorger head from one of my friends’ spares.

I used green stuff to make a hairy neck which suits the metal gorger head.

I converted this model from an Ogre Bull thinking Skrag the Slaughterer. I did not find any chnace to field as a Slaughtermaster but used it as Butcher instead.

It was a very easy conversion with ogre bull swords placed instead of hands and he had a butcher cloth from greenstuff. He also had an extra butcher blade attached to front but I guess it has no use without hands.

I have recognized I have been into 40K for the last couple of months and my blog lacks a bit Warhammer Fantasy. Today I came across these photos; which were the conversions I had made for my long gone Ogre Kingdoms army, and I decided to post them on the blog;
I had decided to convert Ogre Bulls into Butchers as it will be a more cheaper solution. This was my first butcher;

I had given this guy a bangstick which I made from bottom of banner pole and an Empire militia handgun.

This weekend I started and finished Dan Abnett’s Warhammer 40K novel; “Brothers of the Snake”. I am reading Gaunt Ghosts series nowadays and it was a nice change for me.

The novel turns around Priad; a Space Marine and tell us about his undertakings in a series of short stories like his first mission as a initiate, how he became squad-sergeant, etc. (I do not want to give too much spoiler.)
You can also find rituals of a Chapter and daily life of a Space Marine, how they are seen by mortal people, how time works for both. I would recommend this book for all Warhammer 40K players, especially Space Marine players as they will be deploying their army in quiet a different mood next time.

Well I do not know the answer.
I have just received my Imperial Guard Codex and studying it. My main concern is how can I fit all my Leman Russ main battle tanks to the list.
For 1500 pts I have a skeleton idea;
- Company Command Squad – Vox, Laser Cannon : 75 pts
- Troop 1 – Infantry Platoon : 210 pts
Platoon Command Squad
3 x Infantry Squad (3 x Heavy Bolters)
- Troop 2 – Infantry Platoon : 210 pts
Platoon Command Squad
3 x Infantry Squad (3 x Heavy Bolters)
- Heavy Support 1 : 340 pts
2 x Leman Russ Exterminator ( 2 x Heavy Bolter Sponson)
- Heavy Support 2 : 300 pts
2 x Leman Russ
- Heavy Support 3 : 300 pts
2 x Leman Russ
Which makes up 1435 pts. I will try to sequeze the list a bit and get at least one commisar for each combined platoon and give smoke launcher to Leman Russes.
Any comments welcome….

Another new release from Games Workshop is the new all plastic Imperial Guard Leman Russ Demolisher. This box also covers 2 of the new Leman Russ variants in Codex; Punisher and Executioner. You can build one (and only one) Leman Russ variant selecting from Demolisher/Punisher/Executioner. You can use the excess sprues to convert your normal Leman Russ variants…
Currently I have 6 Leman Russes 5 normal pattern and 1 Exterminator pattern. I want to field them in 3 squadrons I will convert one of the normal patterns to Vanquisher or Exterminator to run it with the current Exterminator. I will use the other 4 as is.
I really want to give a try to the Punisher variant at least proxy it a couple of games. But the high point cost does not raise too much good feelings about Punisher. 20 S5 BS3 shots with no AP for this price is abit high, you can buy 5 scout sentinels and still have left over points which will give you 15 S6 BS3 shots with AP6 and a better range.
Games Workshop also released the photos of the new sprues where we see the side sponsons have a new design which will give us easier interchangable weapons.
Leman Russ Demolisher
Leman Russ Executioner
Leman Russ Punisher
Imperial Guard Leman Russ DemolisherThe Leman Russ Demolisher was devised for but one task: line breaking. It carries the short ranged but highly destructive demolisher cannon. Often thought of as a siege tank, the Leman Russ Demolisher has additional armour plating and is utterly devastating when fighting against enemy fortifications.
This box set contains one multi-part plastic Leman Russ Demolisher, and all of the components to allow you to assemble either a Punisher or Executioner variant instead. This 98-piece kit includes all of the sponson and hull-mounted weapon options available to Leman Russ tank variants, including: a lascannon, heavy bolters, heavy flamers, multi-meltas, and plasma cannons. Also included are a Tank Commander, smoke launchers, and a sheet of water slide transfers.
You can click the Leman Russ photos for Games Workshop site.
